TEEN COUNCIL
Check back on April 1, 2018, for 2018–2019 Teen Council applications. The next deadline will be Friday, May 25, 2018.
The Contemporary Austin’s Teen Council, a leadership arts program, offers paid positions for ten to twelve high school students (ages 15-18). The Teen Council serves as an advisory council to The Contemporary Austin and as ambassadors for teens within the museum and community. For creative leaders of all kinds; need not be an artist to apply. Become an important asset to the inner workings of a museum!
Teen Council meets from September through May on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm –7:30 pm at Laguna Gloria. Select meetings occur at the Jones Center and some Saturdays. Members receive an hourly wage.

YOUNG ARTISTS
Applications for our Fall 2017 Young Artists program are due Friday, September 15, 2017. Please submit your application using the links below.
Young Artists is a FREE pre-professional arts program for high school students (ages 14–18) interested in the arts. Young Artists introduces creative careers, explores contemporary culture, provides portfolio development, and fuels a curiosity about the arts! Join Young Artists and develop your art through a lens of contemporary culture!
Select spaces reserved for students from underserved areas with limited access to arts opportunities in Austin.
YOUNG ARTISTS PARTICIPANTS:

YOUNG ARTISTS PARTICIPANTS:
- Receive one-on-one portfolio reviews
- Participate in a public display of your portfolio on the final day
- Walk away with a CD of high-quality images of your portfolio
- Talk with local artists during guest artist workshops and studio visits
- Attend field trips to local arts institutions, colleges, and studios in Austin
- Receive free bus passes to aid in transportation
- Explore new art mediums and techniques
CAMINOS
Interested in professional development through the Arts while promoting Latin culture and earning $13.50 per hour then CAMINOS is for you! Deadline to apply is Friday, December 15, 2017.
CAMINOS is our paid Internship program empowering youth between ages 15 and 18 years old in the Austin area to carve their own path in a creative career. For a whole year, students will be engaged in collaborative projects, artist mentorships and special events that promote and preserve Latinx culture in our community. CAMINOS has been active at various fronts…planning exhibits, leading community mural projects, collaborating with artists and community organizations, publishing a magazine for Latinx Teens, hosting large-scale community events and more… CAMINOS are currently taking applications between now and December 15, 2017. If you are a teen, age 15-18, who is passionate about creativity and may be interested in promoting Latinx culture in Austin, we definitely need to hear from you! CAMINOS will be holding Open Houses to answer any questions that students and families may have:
