Free and reduced price meal benefits: the last day for students to eat off previous year’s meal status is October 2nd. If a student has not turned in a new meal benefit application, and been approved for meal benefits, their status will change to paid. A new meal benefits application must be submitted each school year. To expedite the approval process of a new meal application, online applications are highly recommended. Online applications are available in English and Spanish and can be accessed by creating an account at www.SchoolCafe.com. Daily school menus can also be viewed through SchoolCafé.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, during lunch, all exterior areas beyond the iron entrance gates and building perimeter will be off limits to students. During lunch, all interior and exterior areas of the campus where students congregate must be visible for adult supervision. Your cooperation in this is expected and appreciated. Working cooperatively (social awareness and relationship skills).
Divide your homeroom up into smaller groups (of 3-4 students). Have the groups discuss what their ranking would be for each of the problems listed below – they can write this on a separate sheet of paper or you can print this sheet for them to use. After 5 or so minutes, bring the group back together as a whole and share out. Then, decide as an entire homeroom class what your “team ranking” is for these problems at Anderson. Submit your answers via the google survey so the SEL squad has your feedback and has an idea of homeroom lesson topics to cover this year.

Have you seen Anderson HS's new water fountains with water bottle filling stations? They are located on the north side of the building on every floor. They were donated by the Class of 2017.
The senior PALS are collecting donations for hurricane Harvey victims today through September 29th. All donations can be collected by your homeroom teachers. The winning homeroom will receive Tiff’s Treats on behalf of the PALS. There are posters placed around school for further information.

This week we are celebrating Coordinated School Health. Coordinated School Health is a collaborative approach to student learning and health. CSH includes every person who interacts with students and parents providing the same messages about healthy behaviors and lifestyles. Today’s Coordinated School Health focus is maintaining a clean, safe school environment. Thank you to our Custodial staff and Office staff for keeping the school clean and in working order. The pledge for today is, ‘I commit to cleaning up after myself and helping keep my school clean and safe.’ Students, make sure to do at least one item on your CSH checklist today under the clean safe school environment category.”

Today is Expanded Homeroom/ F.I.T., B Day classes in the afternoon.
Students will be receiving their Chromebooks during Homeroom. Students are to click on the link to fill out the required Chromebook Course Overview as well as the link for Digital Citizenship A & B.
This week the Spirit Store will be open on Thursday and Friday during lunch. We will have a booth at Trojan Spirit Fest on Sunday, August 27th as well. Class shirts are available for $15 each. Our remaining stock of spirit gear has been discounted to move it out and make way for the new items which will debut at Spirit Fest. We accept cash, check (payable to AHS PTSA) and credit cards. We hope to see you soon. GO TROJANS!

If you were absent yesterday, please be sure to go to the library today to get your picture taken and pick up your ID card. - BLEND
- If these two apps aren't on their home page then use the magnifying glass to search for them
- Now click on the magnifying glass and type "FIT" and click on that icon to add it to your home page.
- To find BLEND again go to the magnifying glass and type "BLEND"
- Students can alsso download a CNAVAS app onto their phones. "BLEND" for their portal. "CANVAS" for their phone app.

Schedule Changes:
Please be aware of Anderson High School schedule change policies when submitting a concern. Only scheduling errors will be corrected at this time. All schedule changes must have been requested by August 1, 2017.
Schedule changes will ONLY happen if an error has been made:
- If there is a hole in student's schedule (ex - has no 4th period)
- Student already has credit for the course.
- Student didn't complete/ or does not have credit for the required prerequisite course (ex - Spanish II, but failed Spanish I).
- Student did not put the course on their choice sheet. Counselors used alternate courses that students listed. If student didn't leave alternates then they have no right to request a change now.
- Students may fill out a schedule change form for issues listed above by using the Student Google Form which can be found by going to Anderson High School counselors' webpage.
- If a student changes their mind about taking the course. August 1, 2017 was the deadline for "change of mind" requests.
- If the course was not originally requested or listed as an alternate on their choice sheet.
Picture Day is either tomorrow or Wednesday (science class).
